Propagation of Trees and other Native Species
Millson Forestry has 3 acres of gutter connected greenhouses. These facilities are heated and equipped with lighting which allows for growing year round.
Growing operations have historically focused on the propagation of containerized conifer tree seedlings. Seedling growing operations started in 1982 with 250 000 containerized tree seedlings. Annual production has expanded up to 15 million trees. Our seedlings are used for reforestation, commercial nursery transplant stock, Christmas tree farms, rehabilitation projects, research projects, oxygen production.
We can provide direct seeded crops and transplanted crops (seeds seeded into mini cells and then transplanted into larger growing containers). Transplanted crops allow for better seed utilizations -especially for seeds with low germination.
Ongoing in-house research into stock quality, containers and growing regimes ensure the best quality product for our clients. We are always interested in taking on new growing projects.
Greenhouse space can also be rented on a square foot basis.
